WWE MONEY IN THE BANK 2021 will be happening on 18th July 2021 (Texas), WWE’s first pay-per-view outside the Thunderdome era seems to be the beginning of a new era for WWE.
The MITB pay-per-view has been around since 2010. It has hosted iconic bouts such as John Cena vs CM Punk, Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns amongst others.
However, the event has lost its charm lately as the recent winners of the briefcase have been more of an afterthought in WWE’s eyes.
Headlines of the MONEY IN THE BANK (MITB):
This year’s event is to be hosted at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. It will have a live crowd in attendance and it has a stacked card with big money matches including Bobby Lashley(c) vs Kofi Kingston and Roman Reigns(c) vs Edge.
Bayley vs Bianca Belair(c) was another high-profile match set to happen at the event that was unfortunately canceled this past week due to an injury suffered by Bayley during a training session which sources have called a ‘freak accident’. This injury will sideline the former smackdown women’s champion for 9 months.
The show’s main event is the Money In The Bank ladder match with names such as Drew McIntyre, Big E, Riddle, Kevin Owens, and more. And in the women’s ladder match, Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss amongst others.
Zelina Vega was fired last November but she recently made her shock return to smackdown and was added in the women’s ladder match.
Money In The Bank looks very promising for WWE’s new era as it looks forward to ushering in a lot of new changes. According to a recent report by WrestleVotes on Twitter, a lot of new surprises and changes are coming our way very soon. So expect to see certain title changes and/or big returns at the event!
