WWE Money In The Bank 2021 Review

Asuka vs Naomi vs Alexa Bliss vs Nikki A.S.H vs Liv Morgan vs Zelina Vega vs Natalya vs Tamina for the Women’s Money In The Bank

Result: Nikki A.S.H.

This match was a classic Money in the Bank ladder match. It had its moments like Natalya and Tamina dominating a huge chunk of the match and the final spot where all the women were on the ladder, fighting for the briefcase. Nikki A.S.H. sneaked past everyone to win the MITB which was a genuine surprise for everyone. It was a good opener match and it hyped up the crowd for the rest of the show.

Grade: A

AJ Styles and Omos(c) vs The Viking Raiders for the Raw Tag Team Championships

Result: AJ Styles and Omos retained.

I’ll be honest, I had very little expectation for this match. But it was a really really good match. Omos really shined in this match as he dominated the Viking Raiders whenever he was in the ring and threw Erik on Ivar to break up a really intense pin. The results were expected and Omos really shined as the MVP of the match.

Grade: B+

Bobby Lashley(c) vs Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship

Result: Bobby Lashley retained.

It came to me as a surprise when WWE put this match in the middle of the card. But it all made sense when Bobby Lashley DOMINATED Kofi Kingston who tapped out to the hurt lock in just 7 minutes. This somewhat made sense as Lashley is likely to face Lesnar soon as SummerSlam. However, I was not a big fan of the finish as Kofi is a genuine babyface that people like and it seems unfair for him to lose important championship matches in this way. Overall a decent match.

Rhea Ripley(c) vs Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship

Result: Charlotte Flair won the championship

I did not have high expectations for this match as well. But these two proved us wrong and put on an instant classic. The crowd started chanting “We want Becky!” at the beginning which was not a good sign but they turned the crowd around and by the end, they were chanting “This is awesome!”. The ending came when Charlotte smashed Ripley’s knee behind the steel steps and hit the figure eight to win. Charlotte getting another victory over Ripley was annoying but the match was excellent.

Grade: A

Ricochet vs John Morrison vs Riddle vs Drew McIntyre vs Big E vs Kevin Owens vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Seth Rollins for the Men’s Money In The Bank

Big E won the Men's Money In The Bank ladder match

Result: Big E wins the MITB

This was one of THE best Money In The Bank ladder matches ever and arguably the match of the night. Kevin Owens took an absolute beating in this match as he was suplexed on the edge of a ladder and powerbombed on a bridged ladder. McIntyre was also amazing in this match as he cleared the house and hit a big suicide dive to the outside. Ricochet proved how underrated he is when he jumped off the ladder onto the ropes to hit a suicide dive onto everyone. Heck, even John Morrison was amazing in this match. The ending came when Rollins was climbing the ladder and Big E came out of nowhere to hit a HUGE Big Ending from the top of the ladder and took the briefcase. This was a perfect match that showcased every single person involved brilliantly and it’s easily on the list of MOTY.

Grade A+

Roman Reigns(c) vs Edge for the Universal Championship

Result: Roman Reigns retained.

This was another instant classic. Reigns and Edge put out the best one on one match of the night and it was everything we expected from these two. The crowd popped during their entrances and it was a preview of what was to come. The match was an emotional roller coaster as everyone was on the edge of their seats with every passing second. The referee got knocked out which helped Edge hit the crossface with a piece of a steel chair. When the Usos were taken out immediately we thought Edge was going to win. But Seth Rollins came out of nowhere and superkicked Edge to break the crossface. Ultimately, Rollins cost Edge the match in the end with a distraction. They both brawled into the crowd and Reigns took the mic and demanded everyone to acknowledge him. John Cena made his triumphant return at the end which saw the largest crowd pop of the night. It was a great match overall and created so many moments that we wrestling fans will never forget.

Grade: A+

John Cena and Roman Reigns

Conclusion

In conclusion, WWE Money In The Bank 2021 was a very good show with a lot of amazing moments. Reigns vs Edge, Ripley vs Charlotte and the Men’s MITB match were the highlights of the night. The rest of the card was also amazing and John Cena returning to face Reigns at SummerSlam makes us all excited to see that match.

Overall Grade A+
