Former 2-division UFC Champion, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor lost his trilogy fight to arch-rival Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The loss comes after Mcgregor broke his leg that led to a doctor’s stoppage. “The Diamond” won the trilogy, by defeating Conor for the second time this year.

What happened during the Mcgregor vs Poirier Fight?


A lightweight trilogy between former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Dustin Poirier and former Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor Mcgregor headlined the event. Their first fight was a featherweight bout that happened in September 2014 at UFC 178, where McGregor won by first-round technical knockout. They then ascended to lightweight for an eventual rematch in January 2021 at UFC 257, where Poirier prevailed via second-round knockout.

After the fight ended, Conor continued to humiliate his rival, even while lying on the floor with his leg broke. It was a terrible look for the former champ, while he made statements about Poirier’s wife and and threatened to kill him.


The onslaught of words was pretty confusing for the MMA community the abuses came after his loss in January. The loss which he handled with humility and class.

Looking at how the fight ended, there is a chance that UFC President Dana White will book the two fighters again.
