West Indies vs South Africa
The West Indies vs South Africa 5 match T20 series is now leveled at one match each. The third match will be played at the National Cricket Stadium, Grenada. The match starts today at 11:30 p.m. (IST). Both these teams are looking in a great rhythm and would want to win this match and take a lead in the series.
In the first match, West Indies were chasing a target of 161, which is not the biggest of targets, and they looked very comfortable in that innings. They outplayed every South African bowler in that innings and were looking to score boundaries on every delivery. This is the style of West Indies in a T20 game. They got to the target in just 15 overs. Evin Lews was the hero of this chase, with 71 in just 35 balls.
In the second match, effective batting was still a big question mark for South Africa, but they did pretty well in their bowling department. They set a small target of 167 for the Windies, and that should have been an easy chase, considering their previous chase, but South Africa displayed some great skills with the ball. West Indies kept on losing wickets and eventually faced a collapse. South Africa won the match by 16 runs. Kagiso Rabada and George Linde got them back in the series after a one-match deficit.
South Africa has changed their game with the ball, but they are yet to give a good performance with the bat. In the two matches that they have played, only Rassie van der Dussen was able to get a fifty in one of the innings. If they can improve their batting in this match, South Africa can take a lead in the series.
West Indies playing at home can make a comeback after a collapse and loss in the last match. They have big hitters who can score big runs at a very fast rate, but the problem for them in the recent past has been that they are not able to stabilize the innings if wickets keep falling. If they can work out this issue, they might become a team that can dominate any player or team.
