Meraj Sheykh is a professional kabaddi player who plays for the Iranian National Team and Dabang Delhi in the Pro Kabaddi League. Sheykh was born on 26 May 1988 in Sistan, Iran. He began playing at a young age. Meraj was a professional wrestler for 10 years before shifting to Kabaddi. He is the best all-rounders in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League. Meraj Captained the Iranian National Team in the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup. In the Tournament Iran finished as runners-up. Meraj was part of the Iranian squad which won the Gold Medal at the 2018 Asian Games.

Career

Meraj Sheykhbegan his Pro Kabaddi League career with Telegu Titans in season 2. Hence, He became the first foreign player to captain a team in Pro Kabaddi League. When he was selected as their skipper for the second half of the tournament. In Season 3, Meraj stayed with Telegu Titans and had a decent season with the team.

In season 4, he was bought by Dabang Delhi. Meraj was also named as the captain for that season. Having the huge responsibility Meraj had a very good season with the team scoring more than 60 raid points and 10 tackle points. Ever since Season 4, Meraj is an integral part of Dabang Delhi Helping the team reach the finals of the Pro Kabaddi League. Season 5 was the best year for Meraj in the Pro Kabaddi League in which he scored 96 raid points and 8 tackle points. For his exemplary performance, Meraj was named as the best all-rounder for season 5. In season 6, Meraj continued his good form and scored more than 90 raid points but couldn’t make an impact in defense.
