The Journey of MANU BHAKER:
Manu, the youngest Indian shooterto win a Gold medal in an ISSF world cup has represented India in many highly regarded events.
EARLY LIFE MANU BHAKER :-
Manu Bhaker, the master shooter was born on 18th February 2002 in Jhajjar, Haryana, a state known for its boxers and wrestlers.
Her parents are Mr. Ram Kishan Bhaker who was a chief engineer in Merchant Navy and Sumedha who was school teacher. Manu fell in love with shooting at the age of 14.
Manu Bhaker Journey as a Career:
After scoring 7.5 at a shooting range in school, Manu seriously considered to take this sport as her profession. As her passion towards the game increased Manu fathers bought her a pistol worth 1.5 L.
Manu bagged her first ever medal in 2017 Asian Junior Championships, it was a silver in the 10m air pistol event.
She showed her class by beating Zavalaa in the finals of ISSF World Cup, held at Mexico to become the youngest shooter to win a gold medal in the World Cup.
Manu Bhaker Journey in Asian Games:
However she was ineffective in the 2018 Asian Games, finishing sixth in the finals.
She was determined to win and didn’t lose hope. She again marched in the 2019 ISSF World Cup held at New Delhi, by winning a gold medal in 10m air pistol mixed team event.
Her form continued and won gold medals in the same event in the 2019 ISSF World Cup held at Beijing and Munich.
Though she is just 19 years old, she has many achievements to her name. Manu proved that age is just a number, only passion, perseverance and determination are the things that matters!
