SRH vs DC Post-Match no 19 was played on 25th April. Match tied (Delhi Capitals won the one-over eliminator)
The Delhi Capitals clashed with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the later evening of third double header of the Indian Premier League 2021, today. The initial phase of the match seemed completely different to what actually happened at the scene. Both teams went for a Super Over. Yes, you heard that right, Super Over! Initially, the nation’s capital decided to bat first and set a target for the Deccan team. In the first part, DC stagnated a target of 159 for the Chargers but later the latter was able to chase the score and boom! The match saw a super over there with SRH making 7 runs and compelling DC to make one more than that in just six deliveries.
Indeed, a bad day for Kane Williamson though, what a knock he played. He fought a lone battle, kept losing partners but from a losing position, he gave his side a chance. A word of praise for Jagadeesha Suchith as well as his fireworks at the death made Williamson’s job a bit easier, however, they failed to get one extra run to win the match.
The Delhi bowling was impressive. Their spinners did a very good job and Avesh Khan once again showed that he has come a long way. Kagiso Rabada though was not at his best and the last over that he bowled was very disappointing. In the end, Axar’s 6 balls in the Super Over and Pant’s outrageous batting took Delhi over the line.
David Warner on this defeat SRH vs DC:
David Warner, Hyderabad skipper, says that it has been a tough loss for them. He adds that if you lose your first wicket early then it becomes difficult in the middle. Later, he mentions that the bowlers did well to restrict Delhi. On Manish Pandey being left out, Warner says that it was the selector’s call and it was harsh to drop him. Calls for an appreciation for Virat Singh. On the other hand, Steve Smith says that they played some good cricket today. He adds that they are happy with the victory. Clearly mentions that you need to stay in the middle to play on this wicket.
Player of the Match – Prithvi Shaw
The man with great skills, that’s right Prithvi Shaw has been declared as the MAN OF THE MATCH for his outshining performance, today against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He is happy about the victory and says that the wicket was becoming slower and it was helping the spinner. Prithvi Shaw scored 53 runs in just 39 deliveries
Finally, the game comes to an end and it is Delhi who have finished on top. They were the better side throughout and is a well-deserved win for them. This is now their third win in a row and their season is going great guns now. Sunrisers would look forward to coming good in their next game.
