In 16 October 1995, Amit Panghal was born who is an Indian amateur boxer. At the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships he won silver medal in the Flyweight division. In Boxing World Cup 2020 Panghal won a gold medal.
Personal Life of Amit Panghal:
On 16 October 1995, Panghal was born in Mayna village of Rohtak district, Haryana. His father’s name is Vijender Singh Panghal who is a farmer in Mayna and his elder brother is Ajay Panghal, who works in the Indian Army. Ajay inspired Amit to take up boxing in 2007 as he was also an boxer at Sir Chhoturam Boxing Academy. In 22nd Battalion The Mahar Regiment he is serving.
Amit Panghal Journey as Career:
At the National Boxing Championships in 2017, Panghal won the gold medal in his debut appearance. Of the 2017 Asian Amateur Boxing Championships in Tashkenthe he won the bronze medal in the light flyweight category, in May 2017, and qualified for the 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships, in the quarterfinal by Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan where he was beaten.
Panghal won the gold medal at the Strandzha Cup in February 2018. At 2018 Commonwealth Games in the light flyweight category he won the silver medal. He won the Gold Medal at Asian Boxing Championship 2019 in April 2019 at Bangkok. In view of his stellar performance in the Asian Games, he was nominated for the Arjuna Awards on 11 September 2018. He became the first Indian boxer to win silver medal at the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships on 21 September 2019. Uzbekistan in 52 kg category final by 0-5 Panghal lost to Shakhobidin Zoirov of , settling with a silver medal.
After he defeated Philippines’ Carlo Paalam in the 52 kg quarterfinal in March 2020, Panghal qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics . Panghal won a gold medal in Boxing World Cup 2020 held in Cologne, Germany In December. From Germany he was also given a walkover by his opponent Argishti Terteryan.
