Ravinder Singh Bopara is usually known as “Ravi” is a 36-year-old professional English cricketer.

He plays for Sussex and England in all three formats.

Ravi has played for Karachi Kings, Kings XI Punjab etc. He is an all-rounder a top batsman and a pace bowler. 


Ravi Bopara was born on 4 May 1985 into an immigrant Indian Sikh family.

He did his education at Brampton Manor School, East Ham, and Barking Abbey School.

Ravi attended Frenford Clubs and represented Essex Boys and Girls Clubs in Under 14 cricket team.

He made his debut in the match for Essex in May 2002.

 In 2003-2004 he represented England the under 19 in various tournaments including in the cricket World Cup.

After performing very well and scoring 800 runs in that season he chosen for the England A team.


Ravi Bopara was called up for the England One-Day International team in 2007

Before his Test debut in Sri Lanka which made him drop in early 2008 after three ducks.

He came back for a test against the West Indies in the 2008-09 seasons.

Later he became the fifth batsman to score three Test centuries for England.

In 2016 he took over the captaincy of the Essex one day squad.

February 2007 he made his debut against Australia.

Where he made 7 runs in 5 balls and even got his first ODI wicket. 

Ravi’s T20I debut came in June 2008 in the match against New Zealand

where he didn’t have to perform as England won.

He plays for Essex since 2002; in 2009-10 he played for Kings XI Punjab in IPL.

Later he went to Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015. Currently, he plays for Karachi Kings in PSL.

Ravi Bopara Captained the Karachi Kings after Shoaib Malik stepped down in the 2016 season.
