British Skeet Shooter Amber Hill has tested positive for COVID19. She is forced to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics 2020 because of the condition.

The 23-year-old Amber Hill is currently ranked number 1 in the world. She could have been a potential gold medallist at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 as she was a finalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Unfortunately, this won’t be possible for her this year.

There are no words to describe how I’m feeling right now. After five years of training and preparation, I’m absolutely devastated to say that last night I received a positive Covid-19 test, meaning I’ve had to withdraw from Team GB’s shooting team.

Amber Hill said

It is disheartening for the British shooting team to go through this news. It can be negative for their mindset before the big event.

The situation is becoming more and more alarming by the day. Many athletes have been forced to pull out of the games due to COVID19 and other reasons too. Just a few days ago Coco Gauff also pulled out of the Games after testing positive for the COVID19.
