We are finally getting back some T20 action. PSL 2021 is all set to resume on the 1st of June in Abu Dhabi. In this series of blogs, we will be analyzing the season so far of every team. The next team is Multan Sultans.

Multan Sultans so far

Multan Sultans have been a little unfortunate this season, they have played some good cricket, but their oppositions have always gotten the better of them. Their batsmen have been brilliant, but there is a need to improve their bowling performance. Their bowlers are unable to pick up wickets, and that is costing them the match.

They are in the 5th position in the points table, with just 2 points and one win in 5 matches. They certainly are a good team and have the talent to make a comeback in this tournament.

Players to watch out for

Mohammed Rizwan- Rizwan is currently the highest run-scorer this season and has been playing with a strike rate of 140 at an average of 60. His performance at the top has become very crucial, and it is his responsibility to contribute to the team’s win.

James Vince- Vince, along with Mohammed Rizwan at the top becomes very important to set a solid foundation. He is a quality player, and he has played with a strike rate of 135 this season.

Sohaib Maqsood- Maqsood in the middle-order has become very important for his team. He has been able to stabilize the innings, and he has an average of 45 this season. If he contributes similarly in the upcoming matches, he is sure to get results for his team.

Shahnawaz Dhani- Shahnawaz Dhani is an exciting young talent, and we have seen that in his performance this season. He has picked up 9 wickets so far, and it is expected that the number grows in future games.

Probable Playing XI

Mohammad Rizwan (c & wk), James Vince, Shan Masood, Rilee Rossouw, Sohaib Maqsood, Khushdil Shah, Carlos Brathwaite, Sohail Khan, Imran Tahir, Imran Khan, Shahnawaz Dhani

Apart from the top players, two other players will be very important for Multan Sultans, Carlos Brathwaite, and Imran Tahir.
