Rohit Kumar was the star for defending champions Bangalore Bulls as they beat the league toppers Jaipur Pink Panthers 41-30 in front of a packed audience at the Thyagaraj Complex in the New Delhi.
Rohit finished the match with the 13 Raid points as the Bangalore Bulls inflicted a heavy, demoralizing loss on the season one champions. The well-planned raiding performance by the Rohit Kumar also saw him cross around 50 raid points for the season, but the game was won by the Bangalore Bulls, all-rounder performance that saw their defenders Mahendra Singh, Mohit Sehrawat and Saurabh Nandal to secure High 5s – a first in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League history.
The Bull’s defense manned by the Mahendra Singh and Saurabh Nandal, were in no mood to let the Jaipur raider settle into the match, strangling Pink Panthers ability to score points. A Rohit Kaumr raid in the 12th minute led to the first All-Out of the Match as the Bulls cruised to a 9 point lead.
Rohit’s Super Raid in the eighth minute of the second half which took out Jaipur’s big defenders Sandeep Dhull, Nitin Rawal and Santhapanaselvam and gave him a Super 10 (10 raid points) was a glowing testimony to his raiding prowess and Bengaluru’s form. Sushil Gulia’s two-point raid with 7 minutes in the clock helped Pink Panthers inflict an All-Out on the Bulls to reduce the lead to 12 points. But the surge came late for the Pink Panthers as Bengaluru Bulls continued their aggression to wrap the match up.
