The fifth game of the PSL after resumption is between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. The game is set to take place in Abu Dhabi. The two teams have faced each other 16 times, with Quetta winning 8 times and Islamabad winning 8 times. Both teams have won the championship once in the history of PSL.

Previous Encounter between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators-

The two teams last played each other on 26th February 2021. Karachi National stadium was the venue for the encounter. Wahab Riaz Captain of Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to field first.

Opening the batting for Quetta Gladiators were Saim Ayub and Cameron Delport. The pair got out early leaving the team struggling early. Faf Du Plessis and Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed made up the shaky start given by the openers. Sarfaraz crossed the half-century mark. Contributions from Azam Khan and Faf Du Plessis helped the team reach an above-par score of 198/7 in their quota of 20 overs. Therefore, the best batsman for Quetta Gladiators was Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed scoring 81. Hence, the pick of the bowlers for Islamabad United was Saqib Mahmood picking up 3 wickets and giving 34 runs in his 4 overs.

 Opening the batting for Islamabad United were Imam ul Haque and Kamran Akmal. The team got off to a shaky start losing Kamran Akmal and Tom Kohler Cadmore back in the pavilion in the first 4 overs. Imam ul Haque and Haider Ali continued taking charge against the Gladiators bowlers. Before Haider Ali crossing the half-century mark.  Shoaib Malik, Shane Rutherford, and Captain Wahab Riaz chipped in with major contributions with the bat. Peshawar finished the game with 3 balls remaining. Zalmi finished 202/7 in 19,3 overs. Defeating Gladiators with three wickets in hand. Therefore, the Best batsmen for Peshawar was Haider Ali scoring 50 in 29 deliveries. Hence, the pick of the bowler for Gladiators was Dale Steyn picking up 2 wickets.
