The Tokyo Olympics 2020 lasted officially for 17 days, from 23rd July to 8th August. The Games ended with the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, 8th August. The entertaining games ended with India at number 48 on the list. In terms of total numbers of medals won India stood at number 33.

Track and Field Athlete. Neeraj Chopra won the only gold medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics. He won the medal in the javelin throw Competition with a winning throw of 87.58 m. He became the second Indian ever after Abhinav Bindra to win an Olympic Singles Gold Medal. The whole nation had their breath taken away after hearing the Indian National Anthem at the Olympics after a decade.
Mirabai Chanu redeemed herself after failing to lift the weights at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She won a silver medal in the women’s 49 kg weightlifting competition.
The 23-year-old Olympic debutant from Sonipat surprised everyone by winning the Silver medal. he became the second Indian wrestler ever to win an Olympic silver medal after Sushil Kumar.
