Roger Federer pulls out of The Tokyo Olympics 2020 due to ‘setback with his knee’

It has been an absolute blow to the Tennis fraternity as the master class tennis player Roger Federer announced his withdrawal. He announced his withdrawal from the Olympics due to the knee injury he sustained during the grass-court session.

In the quarter-finals last week, Hubert Hurkacz knocked out of Wimbledon the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

The 39-year-old has never won an Olympic singles gold medal. What could have been his last shot at the Olympics has been ruined because of his knee condition.

During the grass-court season, I unfortunately experienced a setback with my knee, and have accepted that I must withdraw from the Tokyo Olympic Games. I am greatly disappointed, as it has been an honor and highlight of my career each time I have represented Switzerland. I have already begun rehabilitation in the hopes of returning to the
tour later this summer. I wish the entire Swiss team the best of luck and I will be rooting hard from afar. As always, Hopp Schwiz!
