Ravi Kumar Dahiya Wins The Semi-Finals, Just One Step Away From Olympic Gold | Tokyo Olympics 2020

Wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won the semi-finals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Wednesday. He defeated his opponent Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan by fall (both shoulders touching the ground). Amit Kumar Dahiya has confirmed a silver medal for India. He is now in the gold medal match and will compete against the Russian Olympic Committee’s Zavur Uguev in Thursday’s 57kg category gold medal match.

The 23-year old has come a long way. He is now India’s biggest hope of an Olympic Gold Medal.

The whole nation cheered as Ravi Kumar Dahiya made his winning move at the Games. His family, neighbors, and friends all gathered up in Haryana to cheer him up in front of a small Television in a room. Their support clearly shows what this man has achieved for our country. Let’s hope that he goes on to win in the Finals to bag India’s first gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

  • Javelin Thrower, Neeraj Chopra topped the qualification match with a massive throw of over 86 m to qualify into the finals.
  • Lovlina Borgohain lost the semi-finals in Boxing but managed to secure a bronze medal for India.
  •  Deepak Punia was defeated by David Morris Taylor of USA in the Men’s 86kg freestyle semi-final. He lost the match at 10-0 due to technical superiority. However, Punia will have another shot at the bronze medal. Also, Anshu Malik will fight for the Olympic bronze medal at the Olympics as well.
