SIx-Time World Champion Mary Kom owned the Opening Round at The Tokyo Olympics Boxing Competition. She defeated Hernandez Garcia women’s flyweight (48-51 kg) category event.
During the round of 32 matches on Sunday, Mary Kom defeated Miguelina by a score of 4-1. After the first two rounds, the score was 19-19, and the match was evenly poised. Mary collected herself and rushed into the last round with maximum vigor and determination.
As a result of her performance in round three, Mary Kom was able to advance in the boxing event.
PV Sindhu also won in a one-sided game on July 25th. She defeated K. Polikarpova of Israel. Manu Bhaker made a comeback after being down to 3-2. She turned the game around to 4-3 and defeated M. Pesotska to advance further.
