Martin Kaymer withdraws from the Tokyo Olympics 2020

Professional German Golfer Martin Kaymer pulls his name from the upcoming Olympic games. He states the reason to be ‘Complicated Circumstances’ during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Everything is so difficult. There is no team spirit. It will be just like a really normal Tournmaent this time.

The 36 year old won the US Open Title in 2014. He was also ranked as the No. 1 golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking for eight weeks in 2011.

He won the PGA Championship at the Whistling Straits in 2010.

In 2012 he secured the point that completed the ‘Miracle at Medinah’.

After Golf was reintroduced to the Olympic Games in 2016 Rio Olympics, Martin Kaymer secured the 15th position.

It is saddening that the number of sportsperson dropping out of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 is increasing by the day. Earlier, Raphael Nadal posted on Twitter his decision of withdrawing his name from the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
