Six-time World champion MC Mary Kom defeated her rival Miguelina Hernandez Garcia in the Women’s Flyweight (51kg) in the round of 32. Also, there Manika Batra advanced to the next round in the women’s singles table tennis. He was making a comeback against her rival Margaryta Pestoksa.
Earlier, shuttler PV Sindhu won her first women’s singles badminton match at Tokyo Olympics 2021 today. Indian shooters continued to disappoint after a poor show on Day 2. Sindhu defeated Israel’s Ksenia Polikarpova in straight sets as the match ended in 37 minutes.

Srihari Nataraj finished 27th overall in the men’s 100m backstroke heats. Depending on this he failed to qualify for the semis. He clocked 54.31s.
