Manika Batra defeated Ukraine’s Margaryta Pesotska in Round 2 of the Womens’ Table Tennis Competition. Batra gave a tough fight to the opponent and finally emerged with a world-class comeback at the Olympics 2020.
The game did not start in Manika Batra’s favor. She lost the first two games to the Ukrainian by 11-4 in both rounds. However, she collected herself and came back stronger in the 3rd and the 4th round when she defeated Pesotska by 11-7 and 12-10. In the 5th Round, Manika slipped a little and started making nervous mistakes. Pesotska capitalized her mistakes and won the round by 11-8. The match came to a very nervous point for the Indian fans. Manika Batra showed world-class skills in the final two rounds. She won the 6th and the 7th round by 11-5 and 11-7 respectively.
Manika Batra also played a mixed Table Tennis Match Yesterday with Sharath Kamal against the Chinese Taipei Duo. India lost 4-0 to the Chinese Taipei in the match on Saturday.
