Deepika Kumari Finishes At The 9th Spot In The Women’s Individual Ranking Round | Tokyo Olympics 2020

Day 1 at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 started with the Women’s Individual Ranking Round in Archery. Indian Archer Deepika Kumari Finished 9th in the Round with a score of 663.

Deepika was steady at the end of the first half. She was at number 4. However, she slipped in the second. The event continued for 12 rigorous sets and Deepika Kumari finally made it to the 9th spot.

The event had more importance to it as the previous women’s archery record was surpassed. An San created a new Olympics record in the Women’s ranking round with a final score of 680. The previous record was held by Lina Herasymenko of Ukraine.

The South Korean Archer completely dominated the event. They ended up bagging the Top 3 spots on the final rankings list.

Later Today, the men’s ranking round will also take place. Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav, and Tarundeep Rai will compete at the Tokyo Olympics shortly. The Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony is also scheduled for today at 4:30 PM IST.
