Czech Beach Volleyball Player Marketa Nausch-Slukova Tested COVID19 Positive

Another live update from the Tokyo Olympics 2020 has revealed that another athlete has tested positive for COVID19. Marketa Nausch-Slukova from the Czech Republic has tested positive for COVID19.

Marketa Nausch-Slukova finished at the 5th position at the 2012 London Games. She is a prominent athlete and was ranked as the FIVB World Tour Top Rookie in 2010. She is currently at the 16th spot on the international ranking list along with her teammate Barbora Hermannova.

It’s awfully sad for me, that Barbora and me, we had to quit this way our journey to Tokyo which was supposed to be a peak.

Slukova stated

The 33-year-old beach volleyball player was due to perform at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. However, she will eventually have to withdraw from the event. More than 3 Czech athletes have now tested positive for the COVID19.

The situation has raised an alarm among the organizers. Emergency medical procedures are underway to prevent the further spread of the virus.
