South Africa Wicket-Keeper batsman Quinton De Kock has confirmed his retirement from One Day International Cricket after the mega event of Cricket World Cup 2023. De Kock served for his country almost over a decade and he said that the monetary temptation of T20 leagues had played an important role in his decision.
Reasons Of De Kock’s Retirement
Quinton De Kock also said that the financial benefits of playing all around the t20 leagues are hard to overlook particularly when he nears the end of his career. However, he also said that his first priority will always be South Africa. Except for these monetary aspects, De Kock said that he wants to spend time with his family, which is another reason for retiring from ODI cricket. De Kock took retirement from Test cricket almost 2 years ago when his daughter Kiara was born.

De Kock Will Play For Proteas In T20Is
As De Kock’s ODI career will end soon he will think about his future as he makes plans to play the BBL in Australia in December which overlaps the India-South-Africa series. After the World Cup, he said he would take a break and further he will play in T20 leagues around the world. Although, he will keep playing for his nation in T20Is. He will also play the IPL for Lucknow Super Giants.
