Manjeet Chhillar is a professional kabaddi player who plays for Indian National Team and Tamil Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League. Chhillar was born on 18 August 1986 in Nizampur, Delhi. Manjeet is the recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award.  Chhillar was part of the Indian contingent which won the 2009 Asian Indoor Games, 2010 Asian Games, 2014 Asian Games 2016 Kabaddi world cup, 2018 Dubai Kabaddi masters. He won the bronze medal at the 2012 Asian Beach Games.

Career

Manjeet Chhillar began his Pro Kabaddi League career with Bengaluru Bulls in season 1 and was also appointed as captain. Chhillar scored a total of 51 tackle points and also picked up 71 raid points. He won the Leagues Best Defender Award for Season 1. Bengaluru Bulls retained Manjeet for Season 2. Manjeet was adjudged Most Valuable Player in Season 2. He scored 40 tackle points and 67 raid points.  Manjeet helped the team in both the departments and helped the team become runners-up in season 2.

In season 3, Puneri Paltan signed Manjeet and appointed him as captain. His performance levels though didn’t drop. He scored 61 tackle points and 45 raid points. Leading the Pune franchise to their best-ever finish in the league by coming 3rd. Puneri Paltan retained Manjeet for season 4. He did not have a good season. He scored only 44 tackle points and 24 raid points. In season 5, Jaipur Pink Panthers bought Manjeet and appointed him as captain He scored just 5 raid points and 47 tackle points. In Season 6, Tamil Thalaivas bought Manjeet. He scored 59 tackle points and 8 raid points. Tamil Thalaivas retained Manjeet for season 7. Manjeet had the worst year in the Pro kabaddi league. He scored 37 tackle points and 4 raid points.
