Karachi Kings are the table toppers currently in the Pakistan Super League 2021. They have played 5 matches so far and have won 3 of them. They started their PSL 2021 journey with an easy win against Quetta Gladiators. Arshad Iqbal got the man of the match for his exceptional performance with the ball. He took 3 wickets at an economy of just 4. They won two more matches. One against Peshawar Zalmi. PZ scored 188 runs after batting first. Karachi chased it down with three balls to spare. Babar hit 77 runs at the top but it was Mohammad Nabi who took Karachi home. He scored 67 runs at a strike rate of 191.43.
Multan Sultans have not fared good so far in the PSL 2021. They have just a single game out of 5. Their net run rate is -0.244. They got their only win against Lahore Qalandars. Batting first, Quetta scored 157 runs. Carlos Brathwaite and Shahnawaz Dhani got 2 wickets each. While casing, Mohammad Rizwan notched up a brilliant 76 and with Maqsood’s 61. took his team home.
Mohammad Rizwan: The skipper of Multan Sultans is the main player for them. He always takes charge of the batting. Opening the batting, he has scored 297 runs at an average of 59.40 in 5 matches. He is also the highest scorer in the PSL 2021 so far. Looking at his numbers, people might think that he plays the role of an anchor. But, he striked the ball at 140.09!
Chris Lynn: The Australian opener has a history of being explosive up front. But, his contribution has been very dissapointing in this current PSL. With Rizwan being his partner at the top, he has a free pass to go after the bowlers and capitalize in the powerplay. He was dropped after 4 matches but hopefully he returns.
Shimron Hetmyer: Multan Sultan’s biggest buy this mid season transfer has been the Caribbean dynamite, Shimron Hetmyer. This will solve a lot of troubles for Multan Sultans in the middle order. They have been horrendous during the middle overs. Shimron’s firepower will help them reach greater totals and chase targets comfortably.
Imran Tahir: The South African spin legend will be a trick up Mohammad Rizwan’s sleeve. He will be their trump card in the middle overs. The Abu Dhabi pitch will assist. He has his mystery spins and the pitch will assist him a lot.
Babar Azam: Babar Azam is the top player for Karachi Kings in the PSL2021. He has scored 258 runs at a sky high average of 86. He hardly ever gets out. His strike rate is 138.71. Babar plays the role of an anchor and plays long. A calm head and a determined character is shown everytime he plays.
Sharjeel Khan: The young dynamite, pocket bomb has been extremely great for Karachi Kings. He is the third highest run scorer for Karachi Kings. 200 runs at an average of 40 and a whopping strike rate of 170.94. He has also hit the most number of sixes in the tournament i.e. 15.
Mohammad Amir: Their premium pace stalwarth, Mohammad Amir, is the main bowler for Karachi Kings. His ability to produce swing up front is of top quality. Even though he has picked just 4 wickets in the 5 matches, he gives runs at just 7.75 economy rate.
My Fantasy XI
Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, Shimron Hetmyer, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Thisara Perera, Imran Tahir, Shahnawaz Dhani, Carlos Brathwaite, Arshad Iqbal.
