Maninder Singh: The Raiding Lion

Maninder Singh is a professional kabaddi player who plays for Indian National Team and Bengal Warriors in the Pro Kabaddi League. He is currently the captain of Bengal Warriors. Singh was born on 31 January 1990 in Jalandhar, Punjab. He is often considered as one of the best raiders in the Pro Kabaddi League. Maninder Singh is the fastest raider to reach the 500point landmark in Pro Kabaddi League. He achieved this feat in just 56 matches. Maninder Singh was part of the Indian Contingent which won the gold medal at the 2017 Kabaddi Aisa Cup.

Career

Maninder started his Pro Kabaddi League career with Jaipur Pink Panthers in season 1. He got off to a flying start in season 1 scoring 130 raid points. Maninder finished as the third-best raider in season1. He missed the next 3 seasons due to injury. In season 5 he signed for Bengal warriors. He came back strongly, leading the Bengal raiding gang with 190 points. Maninder has been the leader of the raiding department of Bengal warriors. He has scored more than 100 points in each season he has played. Maninder scored 212 raid points in 317 raids in season 7. He crossed the 200 riad point mark first time and helped Bengal Warriors lift the Pro Kabaddi League title for the first time
