JOURNEY OF MANJEET CHHILLAR

Manjeet Chhillar is a 34-year-old professional Indian kabaddi player, who plays for Tamil Thalaivas and the Indian National Kabaddi Team.

He has received the Arjuna Award for his achievements in sports in 2015.

Background

Manjeet Chhillar was born in a Jat family on 18 August 1986 in Nizampur, Delhi, India.

He was a wrestler in his early days later he moved to kabaddi after suffering from a nose injury. 

Manjeet professionally seen playing in the 2010 Asian Games in China.

Career

Manjeet Chhillar made his debut in 2014 for debut for Bengaluru Bulls in Indian Pro Kabaddi League 2014.

He was the captain of Bengaluru Bulls in the first two seasons of PKL.

In the next season, he bought by Puneri Paltan after his team won the second season. 

He was with the new team for the two seasons and was made the captain as well. 

Later in the fifth season of the PKL, he moved to Jaipur Pink Panthers as their new captain.

In season 6 he went to Tamil Thalaivas and scored 59 tackle points and 8 raid points.

The next season he scored 37 tackle points and 4 raid points.

International

Manjeet Chhillar was in the National Championships in 2010, 2011, and 2012 and bagged a gold medal.

He also got gold at the Asian Indoor Games in the 2009 and 2010 Asian games.

At the 2012 Asian Beach Games and claimed bronze.

He has played a total of 74 matches and has a total of 455 points. Chhillar has made 540 tackles and scored a total of 302 points the most by any player in PKL.
