Gujarat Fortune Giants avenged their loss in the last year final against the Bangalore Bulls in style as they hammered the Rohit Kumar led side 42-24 in their opening match of the Pro-Kabaddi League Season 7 here on Sunday.
While both the sides collected the 17 raid points, it was Gujarat Defense which made the difference as they contributed with the 17 points while Bangalore could only manage 6.
For Gujarat, raiders Sunil Kumar, Sachin and GB More collected 7,6 and 6 points respectively while Sonu, Sumit, and Rohit Gulia chipped in with 4,5, and 2 points.
Pawan Sehrawat got the 8 points for the Bangalore while their ace raider and skipper Rohit Kumar failed to replicate his last year show as he could even manage 4 points throughout the match.
Gujarat started the contest on a brilliant note as raiders Sumit and Sachin struck early to hand their team with a lead of 3-0 in initial few minutes. Rohit Kumar also failed in a do-or-die raid but even collected a bonus point to open his account.
Pawan and Rohit Kumar showed some fight but could not even find the little success as Bangalore slowly cut the deficit to 8-12, but Rohit and Sachin kept their good run going as Gujarat raced to a massive 16-8 lead.
Moreover, after that, Rohit Kumar and Pawan did not taste much success while the Gujarat sideshow brilliance in each and every department of the game as the score read 29-20 in their favor. Gujarat Sonu also stepped up to make a super raid as his side took an unassailable with a lead of 32-20.
