DONNY VAN de BEEK

Donny Van De Beek is a professional Dutch football player. Beek plays for Premier League club Manchester United and the Netherlands national team as a center-midfielder. He played for Veensche Boys and Jong Ajax in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.  

Background

Donny Van De Beek was born on 18th April 1997 in Nijkerkerveen of province Gelderland in Netherland.

He started his youth career by playing for Veensche Boys and later he switched to the youth setup of the popular club, Ajax. 

Career

Donny made his professional career in 2014-15, by making a debut for Jong Ajax – a reserved team of the core team of the club. 

He left a good impact on the selectors and coach by his sharp passing and shooting skills when he played 6 matches in the Eerste Divisie. 

In the following 2 seasons, he made total of 29 appearances and scored 8 goals for the club. 

Beek was given the title of Ajax Hottest Prospect in his opening season. 

 He was then sent to the core team of the club and made 10 appearances. In the 2015-16 seasons in Eredivisie.

Beek has played total of 70 games for the club and had scored 12 times. 

In UEFA European U17 Championship he was part of the runner-up team of Netherland in his debut season. 

DONNY VAN de BEEKInternational Career 

In 2013, Donny started playing at the international level, for the U17 team of the Netherlands.

 He uses to play for the junior national teams and then was selected to the senior team in 2017. 

In 2020 on 30th August, Beek signed a five-year contract with Manchester United for a reported 35 Euro million and 5 million in add-ons. 

Ajax got the agreement with English Premier League club Manchester United for the transfer of Van de Beek. 

Beek chose to pay tribute to his former teammate Abdelhak Nouri by wearing the number 34 jersey. 

He made his debut for United in a friendly match against Aston Villa. On 12 September and scored the only goal in a 3-1 defeat.
