Syed Imad Wasim Haider is a 32-year-old Pakistani Cricketer commonly known as Imad Wasim.

He plays for Northern in domestic cricket and is the captain of the team

In Pakistan Super League he plays for Karachi Kings, he is a left-handed all-rounder.

Imad was also one who was awarded a central contract for the 2018-19 seasons by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

In 2019 he captained the Pakistan One Day International (ODI) team for the first time. 

Background

Imad Wasim was born in Swansea, Glamorgan, and Wales on 18 December 1988.

His father is an engineer who uses to work in the UK. They moved to Pakistan when Imad was very young.

He started playing cricket there; he was studying medicine before he made his career in cricket.

Quitted medicine when he got the chance to play for the under-19 Pakistan team.

 Career

On 24 May 2015, Imad Wasim made his International debut in a Twenty20 international against Zimbabwe at Lahore.

He bowled two over’s and gave 14 runs he did not get to hold the bat.

Imad got his first ODI cap on 19 July 2015 in the match against Sri Lanka at Colombo.

He picked up two wickets and Pakistan won.

Next year he made headlines by becoming the first Pakistani player to have five wickets haul in T20’s against West Indies.

In the same year of 2016, he achieved his five-wicket haul in ODI, which landed Pakistan to win.

He became the Man of the match for his amazing bowling performance. Imad reached the top of the T20I bowling ranking.

In 2017 he was part of the ICC Champions Trophy-winning squad.

He received the title of the best T20 player of the year by The Pakistan Cricket Board.

Domestic career 

Imad Wasim was in the Islamabad side for some time and has Islamabad, Islamabad Leopards, and Federal Areas Leopards.

Later he signed up the Punjab Badshahs for short time and then moved to the Karachi Kings in the PSL.

Currently, he is playing for the Stellenbosch Kings in the T20 Global League in South Africa.
