We are finally getting back some T20 action. PSL 2021 is all set to resume on the 1st of June in Abu Dhabi. In this series of blogs, we will be analyzing the season so far of every team. The next team is Islamabad United.

Islamabad United so far

Islamabad United has been a little lucky this season. They have not played the best of cricket. Small contributions from a few players have allowed them to be in the position that they are now. Be it, batsmen or bowlers, nobody has had a significant performance that can be counted as a match-winning performance.

Islamabad United is at the 3rd position in the points table with 6 points in the 4 matches that they have played. Teams like Multan Sultans that have played much better than Islamabad United could easily have been higher in the points table.

Players to watch out for

Alex Hales- He has scored 139 runs at a strike rate of 175 in this season, and he is a crucial part of any team that he plays for. It is expected that he continues to play with this strike rate and releases the pressure right at the top.

Paul Stirling- He has only played 2 matches in this season so far and has a strike rate of over 160. It is expected that he builds a good partnership with Alex Hales at the top so that there is a little less pressure on the batsmen to follow.

Hasan Ali- Hasan Ali is one of the most important players for Pakistan, and he has been very impressive for Islamabad United this season. He has bowled with an economy of just 5.5, which is very impressive. He has not picked up too many wickets, but that can change any time in the T20 format.

Probable Playing XI

Paul Stirling, Alex Hales, Shadab Khan (c), Iftikhar Ahmed, Rohail Nazir (wk), Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Muhammad Musa

Apart from the top players, Two other players will also be very important for Islamabad United. Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan.
