There is no doubt that Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in IPL, but it would be safe to say that Mumbai Indians is one of the best teams in IPL. They have played exceptional cricket over the years, and have won the title five times. Which are the most by any team. It is not just the title that matters, MI, has also given players that have made their international teams proud. There is something about the MI dressing room that nurtures players and makes them better cricketers. Maybe it is the influence of great players present in their support staff at all times.

MI’s initial seasons were very similar to their initial stages of most of their seasons. In a nutshell, they had a rocky start to their campaign in IPL. 2008 was not the start they wanted. Sachin Tendulkar, their captain, was injured and he missed out half of the season. They lost 7 of their 14 matches and finished just one point short to qualify for the next round. 2010 was when they got into the rhythm. They played in the finals for the first time. They, unfortunately, lost to Chennai Super Kings, but they qualified for the Champions trophy.
This was the only time that they played in the finals and lost. From there on, playing in the finals meant winning the trophy. They first won in 2013, then in 2015, then in 2017 and 2019. If it was an odd year, they were winning the title. But in 2020, they broke the myth and won the title for the fifth time.
Rohit Sharma was their captain every time they claimed the trophy. There is no doubt that Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain in IPL, and he is here to keep that reputation going.
