Pre-match update
The first two t20i’s of the five matches in India vs England series have concluded, and the series is tied at one each. England won the first match, and India won the second match. The third match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 7 p.m. IST.
India vs England
Both the teams look good going into the third match. England’s batting lineup goes down to no.7 and no.8, but their top and middle-order have done the job for them, so they have not required batsmen that low in the eleven. Jason Roy, their opener, has been very good in particular. He almost scored half-centuries in both matches.
India did not do well in the first match, but they got back in the second game. Ishan Kishan, who replaced Shikhar Dhawan as the opener in the second game, was exceptional at the top with the bat. Virat Kohli, after a disappointing start in the first match, also had a pretty good match. He won the match with a six and also reached 3000 runs in t20i cricket, which is the most by any batsmen at this level. India’s bowling has been good too. In the second match, they did well and restricted England for 164 runs. That score could easily have been a bit higher.
Expected Changes
KL Rahul has not been in the best of forms in the two matches, and Rohit Sharma, who was expected to be in the starting eleven, was rested. He probably will be back in the side replacing KL Rahul. After all, he is your best player, and you can not leave him out of the side for much longer. India opted for an extra batsman in the second match. Hardik Pandya was their fifth bowler. India can rest a batsman and bring in another bowler in the side.
