The Darkhorse of every tournament, South Africa has not got a chance to win any of the World Cup tournaments, either it is T20 World Cup or ODI World Cup. This time, the South African team can have their dream come true to win an ICC Tournament under the captaincy of Temba Bavuma. But that being said, the Proteas look weak than before with key and experienced players not selected in the squad. This time, South Africa is darkhorse and is in the group of death with Australia, England, and defending champions West Indies, all in the same pool.
CAN SOUTH AFRICA FOR THE FIRST TIME ABLE TO PICK UP AN ICC TOURNAMENT TROPHY ???
TEAM PREVIEW :
South African Team is coming after a series win against Ireland and Sri Lanka. There have been some major changes in the Team with Temba Bavuma, being ruled out of the T20 series against Sri Lanka. The Proteas have won 10 games out of the 14 T20i’s they have featured in.
SOUTH AFRICA SQUAD :
MAIN HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SQUAD :
No Faf Du Plessis, Imran Tahir and Chris Morries in the Squad
In-form batsman Faf Du Plessis has been left out of the T20 Squad. Du Plessis took retirement from Test Cricket earlier this year, to focus on White Ball cricket for South Africa. Du Plessis has been in the greatest form for Chennai Super Kings this season and is also the 2nd highest run-scorer in the tournament.
Unfortunately, similar is the case for Imran Tahir, who is the most experienced bowler for South Africa in T20i cricket. The talk of his performances has been in the news.
Whereas, Chris Morris has made himself unavailable for the T20 World Cup due to niggles and personal reasons.
