MAIN HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SQUAD :

Left out Ross Taylor and Colin De Grandhomme

The New Zealand cricket board has taken a decision to look away from the two of the experienced players in the T20i. Ross Taylor has been a binding force of the batting line-up for the Kiwis in all formats. Whereas, all-rounder Colin De Grandhomme, who had been in a good form, has also been left out of the T20 squad.

RECENT LOSS AGAINST BANGLADESH IN ASIA

New Zealand toured Bangladesh after a long time and was reluctant to perform in the same way they did against Bangladesh at home. They had to plat five T20is from Sep 1 to Sep 10. But Bangladesh was also ready to face the Kiwis in five T20i’s after their first series win against the hard-core Aussies. Bangladesh won the series 3-1 and now there was no chance for Kiwis to win the series but only one chance to play the match to save their pride. At the end of the series, New Zealand had two positives – firstly, their captain has come in the form and was the highest run-scorer in the series, and second being Ajaz Patel scalping 10 wickets at a very good economy and average.
