UEFA vs Barcaelona, Juventus, Real Madrid

UEFA opens proceedings against Barcelona, Juventus, and Real Madrid over European Super League plan.

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Barcelona, Juventus, and Real Madrid for their involvement in the proposed European Super League.

These three clubs were the participants of the 12 members, who were the founder of a new league. Later, the league collapsed as many of the members took the exit from the league.

UEFA Gave Their Statement

The other nine clubs rejected the proposal of the separate league. Although, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus did not reject the proposal as they are still interested.

UEFA told that they started the proceedings against the three clubs. As they all violate the UEFA’s legal framework, they can be ban or can be fined a huge amount.

On Tuesday a statement was released by UEFA where they told the above words. The big three clubs of Europe can face a potential ban of a fine of a huge amount. UEFA told that according to their investigation these three clubs found guilty for this ‘Super League’ project.

Not only that, also the other nine clubs – Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid – will be punished by European football’s governing body for their participation.

Condition of The Clubs

They all agreed to make a combined 15m euro (£13.4m) goodwill contribution to benefit children’s and grassroots football across Europe.

They will also have 5% of Uefa competition revenues withheld for one season, starting in 2023-24, and this money will be redistributed, including in the UK.

Each has also committed to Uefa and its competitions, with the clubs facing fines of 100m euros (£86.9m) apiece if they seek to join an unauthorised competition in the future. They will be fined half that if they breach any other terms of the declaration.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently said that the 12 clubs that agreed to join the project have “binding contracts” and “cannot leave”.
