Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro is an international footballer who plays for the Portugal National Team and Juventus. Cristiano played for the national teams in the youth levels as well as the senior team. He is currently the captain of Portugal. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players of all time. He has won five Ballon d’Or awards and four European Golden Shoes, both of which are records for a European player.

He is one of the few recorded players to have made over 1000 professional career appearances and has scored over 770 official senior carer goals for club and country. He is also the second male to score 100 international goals and the first European one to achieve the feat. Ronaldo made his senior international debut for Portugal in 2003. He has earned more than 170 caps for Portugal. Ronaldo is Portugal’s most capped player and the country’s highest goal scorer. Ronaldo is one of the most marketable and famous athletes in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo is the first footballer to earn $1 billion in their career.

Early Life

Cristiano Ronaldo was born on 5 February 1985 in Sao Pedro, Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Maderia, Portugal. He started playing for Andorinha in 1992 at the age of 7. He then spent 2 years at Nacional. In 1997 he joned Sporting youth football academy.



Cristiano has represented the Portugal National Team at the U-15, U-17, U-20, U-21, U-23, and also the senior level. Ronaldo began his international career with Portugal U-15 in 2001. At age 18, Ronaldo made his first senior appearance on 20 August 2003. He was selected in the squad 2004 Euro. Ronaldo was selected in the team of the tournament. Cristiano Ronaldo captained Portugal for the first time in a friendly game on 6 February 2007. Ronaldo led his team and won the Euro 2020. He was awarded the Silver Boot as the joint second-highest goalscorer, with three goals and three assists, and hence, was named to the team of the tournament for the third time in his career. He helped Portugal win the inaugural UEFA Nations League in 2018.


At age 16, Ronaldo was promoted from Sporting’s youth team. He subsequently became the first player to play for the club’s under-16, under-17, and under-18 teams, the B team, and the first team, all within a single season. On 29 September 2002, Ronaldo made his debut in the Primeria Liga. Ronaldo became Manchester United’s first Portuguese player when he signed ahead of the 2003-04 season. At that time, the most expensive teenager in English football history. Ronaldo showed his worth and therefore helped United win titles. In 2008 Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or for his outstanding performance throughout the season. Ronaldo joined Real Madrid ahead of the 2009-10 season for a world record transfer fee at that time. He made an immediate impact and helped Real Madrid win trophies. Ahead of the 2018-19 season, Ronaldo joined Juventus he has helped Juventus win the domestic titles.
