Round 3 of the Carabao Cup has come to an end. Premier League teams were involved in all the games, and none disappointed bar one team.
West Ham get their Revenge
The Irons, after losing to United on the weekend, came back strong and beat the Reds on their home turf, kicking them out of the cup. Lanzini scored the only goal in the game.
Mark Noble, who missed a penalty against them earlier on the weekend played the full game and was impressive in the middle of the park, with a new signing Kral.
Man United will be disappointed, but Ole’s men have to shift all their focus on the Premier League and can’t afford any lapses.
Arsenal score more than one goal
With the North-London derby on Sunday, Arsenal’s confidence will be a high as they’ve gone three games without conceding and put three past AFC Wimbledon last night.
Smith Rowe, Lacazette, and Nketiah were all on the scoresheet, making this the first time they’ve scored more than one goal this season.
Penalty Drama in the Carabao Cup
Both Villa and Wolves took the big dogs, Chelsea and Tottenham to penalties.
However, the London teams were able to keep their cool and go through to the next round. Harry Kane and Ndombele both got their first goals for Spurs this season. Timo Werner also got on the scoresheet which will do the world of good to his confidence.
No weekend Blues
Leicester and Brighton played each other on the weekend, and both ended up winning their cup games 2-0. Brighton brushed aside championship club Swansea with an Aaron Connely brace.
Brendan Rodgers shifted to a back three for their clash against Swansea. Both his strikers, Iheanacho and Lookman were on the scoresheet.
The Carabo cup’s 4th round draw is set to take place today, and the cup competition will resume on the 26th and 27th of October.
