Fazel Atrachali is a professional kabaddi player who plays for the Iranian National Team and U Mumba in the Pro Kabaddi League. Atrachali was born on 29 March 1992 in Gorgan, Iran. Fazel showed signs of talents since childhood. Atrachali was the most expensive foreign player in the 2016 auctions. He started pursuing the sport from the age of 11. Atrachali was selected for the National team in 2010. Fazel Atrachali was appointed as the captain of the National team. Atrachali was a part of the gold medal Iranian Contingent at the Asian Games, 2018. Fazel won silver medals at the 2010 Asian Games, 2014 Asian Games, 2016 Kabaddi World Cup.
Fazel Atrachalibegan his PKL career with U Mumba. In Season 4 Fazel signed for Patna Pirates. He blossomed into one of the league’s best defenders. Fazel finished the season as the leading tackle point scorer. He won the Pro Kabaddi League title. Fazel won the Best Defender Award for season 4. Atrachali signed for Gujrat Fortunegiants for season 5. Fazel was back with U Mumba for season 6 and hence was named as the captain for the franchise. He finished third in the race for Best Defender in the League. In Season 7 Fazel was retained by U Mumba. His exemplary performance led the team to the semifinal where they eventually lost to the champions Bengal Warriors. Hence, Atrachali was the best defender for Season 7. Hence, winning the award for the second time in his career.
Fazel is an asset for any he plays with his experience, and therefore the ability to change a match with his defending skills. Therefore, Atrachali is the first foreigner defender to score 300 tackle points in the Pro Kabaddi League history. He is the first player to score more than 80 tackle points in 1 season. Hence, Fazel is the second player to win the defender award twice in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League.
