Deepak Kabra to be the First Indian Judge in the Gymnastics Competition: Tokyo Olympics 2020

Deepak Kabra will become the first Indian Judge at the Gymnastics Competition in the Olympics. It is a big achievement for a person who himself couldn’t become a successful athlete in the same sport.

India’s best Olympic Gymnast, Dipa Karmakar congratulated Deepak Kabra in a tweet on Sunday.

First Indian ever to get selected to Judge Gymnastics at an Olympic Games! Congratulations Deepak Kabra bhaiya for this wonderful accomplishment and best wishes for #Tokyo2020

Dipa Karmakar Tweeted on Sunday.

Deepak was a Gymnast himself, however, due to poor fundamentals he could not become a very good athlete. However, he was aware of his weakness and decided to follow his passion for gymnastics. He decided to become a judge in Gymnastics.

I started very late at the age of 12 in 2000. We used to live in Surat and the facilities were not great at that time. I competed in national-level events, also participated in the 2007 National Games in Guwahati.
