Among the changes for the T20 World Cup, there was one where a young Indian bowler after traveling as a reserve and extra bowler for the team is now again been demoted to the status of a reserve for the T20-World Cup. He shared a cryptic post on his social media platform showing his discomfort with the decision.
It has been a week since the team was announced for the World Cup and many names were missing from the main 15 in the squad. The absence of players like Sanju Samson and Mohammad Shami was heavily covered but a player who has done well for the Indian side every time he held the ball in his hand is sacked from the main 15.
Young Ravi Bishnoi who was selected for the Indian team in Asia Cup and also managed to play a match in the tournament has been demoted to the level of a reserve for the World Cup.
He played in the crucial Super 4 match against Pakistan where he ended up with the final figures of 1 of 26 and scored an unbeaten 8 in the last over lacing two lucky boundaries to show off his swordsmanship.
Eventually, though, he has been demoted to the standby list for the World Cup by the selectors as they picked an extra pacer to cope with the conditions in Australia. He joined Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar, and Mohammad Shami in the Standby squad.
Bishnoi showed his discomfort with the selector’s choice as he shared a cryptic story on his Instagram account saying, “The sun will rise, and we will try again.”
He is also out from the squads for Australia and South Africa T20I series. The youngster made his debut for India earlier this year and has featured in 10 matches since then taking 16 wickets at an economy of 7.08.
