The match happened in Colombo, where Pakistan opted to bat first but was bundled out for 128 runs with Lakshmipathy Balaji scalping 3 wickets. The platform was set for Indian batsmen to rule, and The King did it in some style. Virat Kohli smacked 78 runs not out in 61 runs with 8 fours and 2 sixes. India won the match by 8 wickets.
2014 T20 WORLD CUP : 36 RUNS*
The match took place at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, India elected to bowl first and bowled out Pakistan for 130/7. The pitch seemed difficult to Pakistani batsmen, but it was a cakewalk for Indian batsmen; The openers gave a good start and Virat Kohli scored the most runs in the innings by stitching a partnership with Suresh Raina. India won the match by 7 wickets.
2016 T20 WORLD CUP : 55 RUNS*
In the rain-affected match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, an 18-over contest took place. India invited Pakistan to bat first on a spinner-friendly pitch. Indian bowlers got Pakistani batsmen in trouble after a good opening partnership. The Pakistan innings got stopped at 119 runs by Indian bowlers. Mohammad Amir got the first breakthrough for Pakistan, but the king dominated the innings; he smashed bowlers all-round the park and scored his second 50 against Pakistan in the T20i. The Kohli-innings powered India to a 6-wicket victory over Pakistan.
