Just when the Women’s T20 Challenge started to gain momentum, the players started to find some form, the time for the final, titular clash, which will pit the two-time champions Supernovas against the Trailblazers, has arrived.
The two teams faced off each other in an enthralling contest on Saturday where the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Supernovas trounced Smriti Mandhana’s Trailblazers in a last-ball thriller by two runs to stamp their berth for the finals on the basis of a superior Net Run Rate than the third participant of the league:
Velocity.
For the defending champs, opener Chamari Atapattu was in blistering form. On the back of her belligerent 48-ball 67, the Supernovas powered themselves to a competitive total of 146 for 6.
Pitch and conditions
The track will continue to assist the spinners heavily. With the possibility of dew in the second innings, the toss will be significant, and the captains will be keen to chase. Given the slowness of the track,
one cannot expect a very high-scoring encounter,
