T20 WORLD CUP 2007 – BOWL OUT MATCH
India and Pakistan faced each other for the first time in T20i’s, and it was a game to remember for ages. The match took place at Kingsmead stadium, Durban; Pakistan chose to field first, and Mohammad Asif ran through India’s batting line-up. Sohail Tanvir kept it tight from the other hand. Asif took four wickets and went very economical with his bowling partner Sohail Tanvir. India got stopped on 141/9, Robin Uthappa scored an excellent 50 and was the only batsman to reach that mark in India’s line-up. India set the score, and Pakistan started losing wickets at regular intervals; Misbah-Ul-Haq was the only batter to stand in between India’s victory. Pakistan needed one run in 2 balls, and they could not score that one run; Match went into a super over.
THE BOWL-OUT :
At that time, the rule was about the bowl-out; both the teams would get a chance to hit the stumps, and the team with the most points would win. Robin Uthappa, Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag were the leading players who hit the stumps perfectly. In contrast, all the Pakistani bowlers missed the stumps and that too by a large margin. India won the match by three points.
