- Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka struggled really badly in the first match of the series, to say the least. They fail to play their bowlers well in the middle overs and struggle as a result of that. In their last match, they were off to a great start and we thought the results could be different this time. But again they struggled big-time in their bowling. This has been a case for some time and they have done little to improve this.
India capped off another great performance. However, the star players from the first match underperformed, to say the least. Ishan Kishan was dismissed after only 1 run. Even Shikhar Dhawan could not manage to hit 30. But in spite of their underwhelming performance, players like Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar were superb. They were great in their bowling department as well. It is expected that India will win the next match as well.
- Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka started off on a great note. With Fernando and Bhanuka having a solid 77 run partnership. But it was all downwards from there. Rajapaksa was immediately dismissed by Chahal. But their middle-order showed some potential. Charith Aslanka scored an impressive 65 runs and later Karunaratne scored a solid 44*. Other than that, the rest of the batting order struggled a lot. Especially against Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Chahar.
India’s batting innings started really decently. Prithvi Shaw’s performance was disappointing again as he was dismissed after just 13 runs. The previous game’s heroes were also disappointing as Dhawan and Kishan both were dismissed early on. But Sri Lanka’s poor middle over bowling gave a chance to Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar to shine. They scored 53 and 69* respectively. Chahar was even named the POTM. India’s bowling was what you would expect from them. It was really on point and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s 3 wickets really boosted the Indian morale.
