It’s the end of the fifth match of PSL after its resumption. Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Sarfaraz Ahmed captain of Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Opening the batting for Peshawar Zalmi was the experienced Kamran Akmal and Haider Ali. The bowlers from Quetta started the innings with determination and did not five any easy runs to the batsman. Peshawar lost 2 quick wickets and looked in deep trouble in the powerplay. David Miller and Kamran Akmal stuck together in the middle and helped Peshawar bounce back from the shaky start. The pair made a century run stand. Zalmi ended 197/5 in their quota of 20 overs. David Miller was the best batsman for Islamabad United scoring 73. For Quetta Gladiators Mohammad Nawaz was the best bowler picking up 2 wickets and Khurram Shahzad picking up 1 wicket and giving 22 runs in 4 overs.
Opening the batting for Quetta Gladiators were Usman Khan and Saim Ayub. The openers got off to a good start and have a half century partnership. Quetta kept losing wickets in intervals and no batsman could stay in the middle. They completed 136/9 in 20 overs. For Quetta Gladiators Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was the pick of the batsmen scoring 36 runs. For Peshawar Zalmi Mohammed Irfan was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3 wickets and giving away only 27 runs in 4 overs. Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators by 61 runs.
