Their opponents on Sunday at Lord’s, London, Pakistan is all but in the same boat but have played one match less than them.
Pakistan is at the ninth position in the points table and they need to turn the tables to stay alive in the tournament.
Pakistan had played their last match against India on 16th June, so they have had a good break. However, it hasn’t been easy for the Men in Green as they have been severely criticised by the media and their own former players. Thus, they let their performance do all the talking.
South Africa had failed to win the crucial stages of the match against New Zealand. It has been a disappointing performance from the Proteas and they would aim to come back stronger. Their batting has not clicked as a unit and they would need to pull up their socks.
Furthermore, South Africa has been sloppy in the field. David Miller who is known for his fielding had dropped a dolly in the previous match against New Zealand.
