New Zealand vs Bangladesh
The third and final match of the New Zealand vs Bangladesh T20 series will be played on the 1st of April at the Eden Park Stadium in Auckland at 11:30 a.m. (IST). New Zealand currently leads the series by 2-0.
It was expected that New Zealand would win the series, but Bangladesh is a decent side, and they could have at least given a tough competition. But that was not the case. They were whitewashed in the ODI series, and now they might lose the T20 series without a single win in their bag.
T20 series so far
In the first match, New Zealand batted first. Devon Conway and Will young guided them to a total of 210 in 20 overs. Both the players batted with a strike rate of more than 175 and scored half-centuries each. Bangladesh, in return, wasn’t up to the mark. They could only get 144 runs on the board, with 45 runs of 33 balls being their highest individual score.
In the second match, New Zealand once again was batting first. This time, Glenn Phillips scored a half-century. They got to a total of 173 for 5 in 17.5 overs, and the match was interrupted by rain. The innings got reduced to 16 overs. There was confusion with the target, but in the end, Bangladesh had to chase 171 runs in 16 overs. They could only get to 142 and lost the match by 28 runs as per DLS.
Third Match
New Zealand has been the favorite throughout this tour, but Bangladesh can still win the last match. If they manage a win, they will be able to avoid a whitewash in this series. They will have to play more confidently to win this match.
