Multan Sultans finished second in the points table with 5 wins in 10 games. Peshawar finished third in the points table with 5 wins in 10 games. The two teams faced each other twice this season. Each team winning once.
The winner of the finals will be crowned as the champions of the PSL season 6. Multan would be hoping to win their maiden PSL title. Whereas Peshawar would be looking to win its second title and become the most successful team in PSL with Islamabad United.
Multan Sultans qualified for the finals defeating Islamabad United in the first qualifier. They Qualified for the play-offs coming second in the points table with the best net run rate in the whole tournament. Multan have had a mixed season with winning five matches and losing five. For Multan they would want their top three to give them a good start with fire power down the order. They would also want their other bowlers other than Shahnawaz Dhani to stepup. Captain Rizwan would want the team to perform the way they defeated Islamabad United in the first qualifier.
Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the finals defeating Islamabad united in the second qualifier. They defeated defending champions Karachi Kings in the eliminator. For Peshawar they would want their top order to play the way they have played in the last few matches. In the bowling department they would like everyone to be supporting the captain.
