Ireland vs South Africa Highlights
- Ireland and South Africa are set to go head to head in their 2nd T20 match of the series.
- SA beat IRE by 33 runs in their first match of the series.
- South Africa managed to win the previous match but they still need to make some needed changes.
- Ireland were decent at bowling but their batting needed some major improvements.
- This is a crucial series for both of the teams as the T20 World Cup nears.
This was their first match under this format in over a year. Ireland capped off a decent showing but struggled in the batting department. Harry Tector and Barry McCarthy were decent at batting as they scored 36 and 30 respectively. It was a forgivable performance considering their lack of practice in this format. But they still need to win some matches to have some momentum in the World Cup.
- South Africa
They were the more dominant team in their previous match, to say the least. They still need to do some work in both departments but their bowling was almost on point. Tabriz Shamsi was the POTM and dismissed 4 Irishmen. The others were also impressive. They need to improve their batting side to ensure a victory in the second match.
The Irish were pretty decent in their bowling. With Mark Adair taking 3 wickets and Simi Singh and Josh Little taking 2 each. However, they were struggling in their batting order. Except for Harry Tector and Barry McCarthy, most of the others could barely reach 20. Due to his performance, McCarthy could be played a little ahead in the order. Other than that, they need to make some critical changes in their top order.
Predicted squad: Paul Stirling, Kevin O’Brien, Andrew Balbirnie (c), Harry Tector, George Dockrell, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Mark Adair, Shane Getkate, Simi Singh, Barry McCarthy, Josh Little
- South Africa
SA was pretty dominant in their game. They managed to cap off a good target for the Irish to chase due to Rabada’s last over’s performance. Aiden Marakam scored an impressive 39 off of 30. They were decent in their batting overall but Janneman Malan’s performance was below par. On the bowling side, Tabriz Shamzi had an outstanding performance. He took 4 wickets and conceded only 27 runs. They were good at their bowling but it would be better for them if they made a few changes in their batting order.
